Berlin, March 2011 - These are turbulent times for visual communications. The digitization of both production and content continues its advance and we now also consume digitally. What do these massive changes and new perspectives – this shift – mean for the design profession? That is the subject of the international design conference TYPO Berlin 2011 “SHIFT”. For three days in May 2011, more than 50 experts from disciplines including graphics, design, art, the Web and business will come together in Berlin’s House of World Cultures to talk about their stances on the new media and design realities. There will be lectures, discussions, workshops and proposals. Some 1200 typographers, designers and media creatives from all over the world are expected to attend Europe’s largest design conference, which is being held for the 16th time in 2011.
