The Classics



The Classics is a visual project series whose purpose is to bring visibility to and celebrate the role that iconic album cover artwork has played as a cross-cultural communicator between the artist and fan, specifically within the genres of Rap, Soul/Funk, and Reggae music.

The first exhibition, entitled RAP, which will feature over 25 classic Rap music album covers (courtesy of DJ 2-Tone Jones), will take place on Wednesday September 30, 5pm-9pm, at Lounge of 3 - 1013 U Street NW. The evening will also include Complimentary Smirnoff (7pm-9pm), in addition to there being No Cover, No Dress Code and music by DJ 2-Tone Jones and Nick Da 1da.

CUT&PASTE DEBUTS GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP TO CLOSE OUT 2009 TOUR


This year’s Cut&Paste Digital Design Tournament has made its way through 16 cities and 256 competitors from February – June 2009. It now culminates in a battle of the best, champions vs. champions, with the final 2009 tournament event: the first-ever Cut&Paste Global Championship. Showcasing the talents of 48 competition winners from the North America, Europe, and Asia/Pacific regions, the championship event will take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

今年度的Cut&Paste數碼設計邀請賽自2月至6月期間已成功於16個城市舉行, 共有256參賽者。現正邁向比賽的最重要時刻 –環球錦標賽,來自各地優勝者之對決! 從北美、歐洲和亞洲等地區多名高手中脫穎而出的48位優勝者,將使出渾身解數,於紐約市的Hammerstein Ballroom一決高下。

The search for Asia’s finest creative talent begins on HP SPACE!

Winner gets US$ 50,000 and a dream job on live action feature film adaptation of a cult anime television series



HP SPACE, the most anticipated pan-Asian reality television series set to debut on Star World and Channel [V] in November, flings open its digital audition doors on September 1 at www.hpspace.com to begin its hunt for Asia’s most exciting up-and-coming creative talent. For a shot at fame and fortune, the chosen candidates must use the latest, cutting edge product innovations from HP to battle it out over eight episodes. The winning contestant will walk away with a grand prize of US$50,000 as well as a fully paid job on the production team of Bubblegum Crisis – a blockbuster remake of the cult anime classic.

Contestants must be over the age of 18 and submit their application at www.hpspace.com by midnight on Sunday, 27 September.

Restaurant & Bar Design Awards



Now in it's second year, the 'Restaurant & Bar Design Awards' is the only concept of its kind dedicated exclusively to design. The Awards last year attracted over 300 entries from restaurants and bars and their international designers. Notable entrants included designers - Zaha Hadid, Conran, Tom Dixon, Kengo Kuma and Karim Rashid. With the call for entries from 2nd Nov 2009, this year's judging panel will include the editors of Blueprint, Frame, Elle Decoration, Design Week, Vogue Living, The Guardian, Mondo Arc, Grafik, Mix, Design Exchange, View*, Restaurant Magazine, World's Best Bars and several others.

City Mag



The City of Luxembourg has launched a brand new version of its official monthly magazine. A different format and fresh approach to editorial content will not only enhance the city’s brand image, but also improve the way the municipal government communicates with a wide target audience.

CITY MAGAZINE LUXEMBOURG is a bi-lingual publication in two distinct 32-page sections, the City Magazine and the City Agenda. The City Magazine section includes news and official information from the city, as well as a series of regular features offering advice and opinion. The City Agenda highlights the month’s best cultural events and incorporates day-by-day listings.
